themeritsofthescheme is a blog where three girlfriends who went to college together in olympia, washington decided to build an interactive internet clubhouse. we 3 love fashion and design, boys and makeup, peace and justice, service and intelligence, bags and books, rockin’ tunes and clean food. the blog is a place where we will share our favorite fashion & design finds and ideas with one another and with you!

the wildgeese consists of three lovely ladies:
1. AUGUSTA SHOWBIZ GORDON:
For Showbiz Gordon getting dressed to is an expression of creativity not just a necessity. From first grade through third grade her favorite thing in the world was a pair of orange bell bottoms. So not cool in the 80's. It makes sense that she lives in NY because she loves people watching. But not that sketchy dude who threw his backpack at her last week. He was scary and his clothes were wack. She's in grad school studying to become a psychotherapist at Hunter College. Her favorite place in the city is East River Park. Her favorite place in the world is Angkor Wat in Cambodia. She sometimes imagines she whispered secrets into the same hole in the temple wall as Mr. Chow in the film In the Mood for Love.
2. ELISE DANGERTIME BELKNAP:
Elise currently lives in pentucky with her fiance, rollie and their cat Nina. She is in graduate school hoping to learn how to save the world. She is currently too poor to be house proud or be a clothes hound but that hasn't stopped her from oggling websites and making occasional sale purchases. She is always on the look out for the perfect lamp and a shoe that doesn't make her feet look stupid. She is in love with Mad Men (just like everyone else), and eating delicious food with delightful people.
3. LAYLI SAMIMI-EXTREMIE:
layli lives in sodak with her husband baktash. she has her masters degree in conflict transformation and is the conflict specialist/community organizer for a Native American advocacy organization. in her spare time, she loves to photograph lonesome landscapes & dress up and design photoshoots with her loved ones. layli was raised in alaska & her heart remains in the pacific northwest. she hasn't been the same since she left it on those wet, grey beaches. soon, layli has to find her way back to her heart in order to be complete. nature, a good espresso, some good laughs and a badd pair of cowboy boots is my idea of a good time. my favorite place in the world is boy scout beach in juneau, alaska & the harbor in xania crete. layli loves fashion and expressing her creativity through her personal style. my favorite items are my american apparel circle scarf, my black cowboy boots that i've worn for 9 years & my wedding dress.
