for Patrick

Patrick Hill taught me the most important thing in life- to allow yourself to be vulnerable, for if we don't allow this, we never grow, gain a true connection with others or feel at peace. i try to live my life by leading with my vulnerabilities every minute. that doesn't mean it's not damn hard. but i think we should all remember the importance of giving power to our vulnerabilities, for where else to do we achieve strength and growth?

"being vulnerable doesn’t have to be threatening. Just have the courage to be sincere, open and honest. This opens the door to deeper communication all around. It creates self-empowerment and the kind of connections with others we all want in life. Speaking from the heart frees us from the secrets that burden us. These secrets are what make us sick or fearful. Speaking truth helps you get clarity on your real heart directives."

It's true . . .

the truer I am to my heart

the more honest I am

the better my life is.

sometimes it's a scary path being honest and true to yourself but it's the only way to stay sane, grounded, and real.

This post was exactly what I needed to read the minute I read it. I had to speak my truth to a dear friend of mine, had some misgivings about doing so, and I ran across this post literally minutes before this person called. Thank you. I've been following this blog for a little while now...
